Your Visit

Hallo and Welcome !

Home The information panels The tale

The trail is open from June 15th to November 10th as the Little Folk hibernate in winter !
Never wake them up!

You'll find "the Little Folk's Trail" in Feldberg Village, Southern Black Forest (southwest of Germany, Federal State of Baden-Württemberg), some 45 km from Freiburg, some 60 km from Basel (Switzerland), and only a stonesthrow away from wellknown Titisee (10 km).
From there you follow the B 317 to Feldberg-Ort, and the signposts for "Haus der Natur" (Wildlife Interpretative Centre) and "Feldbergbahn" (cable-car to Feldberg mountain range) where you'll find an ample car park. The trail starts from "Café Waldvogel" directly beside the bus stop "Feldberger Hof" Hotel.

More information about the trail you will get at
"Haus der Natur" (Feldberg Wildlife Interpretative Centre), Information Desk and Bookshop,
Dr.-Pilet-Spur 4, 79868 Feldberg, Tel:07676-933630
Open Tue-Sun 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Mon (only within school holidays)

Here, at the information desk, in our bookshop and especially in our exhibition area in- and outside the centre you will also find a lot of other useful information on the Feldberg (the Black Forest's highest mountain), the Black Forest in general, on wildlife and on touristic highlights of the area.

Now, allow yourselves some 2 hours; the trail is 1.8 km long or approx. 2400 children's steps.
Please carry children who can't yet walk in a special carrier-basket (which you could hire at "Haus der Natur", information desk, for a small fee), as the Little Folk's paths are unsuitable for prams, too narrow, stony and full of roots!
Better not walk the trail on a stormy day or when a thunderstorm is approaching, as this could be dangerous.

Please stay on the trail and take your litter back, so that the inhabitants of the forest can live in peace in a tidy home.
